The same technique, two different concepts!
I’ve posted a video over on my youtube (or you can watch above!^) about how I created the stars in the two pictures below.
The first image is from week 32 of 2015, and the second image below is from week 6 of my project from this year.
I came up with this idea whilst lying in bed staring inquisitively up to my bedroom ceiling. I have a shelf above my bed displaying a few trinkets and keep sakes and I noticed my yellow ikea lantern had star shaped holes in it. I grabbed my phone and put the torch on and began shining it through the stars and onto my wall. I remember the moment because Jack wondered what the hell I was doing with no explanation, I was in my own little world creating stars on our bedroom wall. I asked if Jack would help me out that day with an image (I think this was one of the first self-portraits that he had helped me with properly), I definitely needed a second pair of hands, mostly to make sure the star was in the correct place over my eye.
The second image was birthed from a curiosity for reimagining old ideas. I also wanted to create a youtube video on how I made the stars after numerous questions on how it was done, and I thought it would be great to show it in practise.
I would love to know if you use this technique in the future, let me know in the comment section or follow me on all the socials and tag me! It was so much fun to make!
